Rules

Players must use the 9 edited Default armies (Warriors of sigmar, etc), download is attached to this post.

A player gets a point if he wins a battle

Draws are not counted

Use the !Dice chat command to pick a random map

If you lose the battle, the army you played with is eliminated from all further matches regardless of opponent.

If possible a player must try not to use the same race or army twice against the same player.

You can only play up to 3 matches against another participant until you have played all opponents, at which time you may play another 3 matches, until all you armies or opponents are eliminated.

Late joinings are fine but you are unlikely to do as well as only the tougher armies will be left Smiley plus your armies dont win points for surviving just winning.

Please post your results in the forum including which armies won/lost in the forum so its easier to keep track of.

The patch does not include map patches, please install those if u havn't already.

The sides have been slightly balanced.

Units generally still have the same stats as orignal DO
Exceptions:
Zombies immune to fear (will fall apart if they lose h2h thou)
Black Grail Knights -10 instead of 12 units, -1wound.  Still a tough unit though

We tend to use gameranger more than hamachi now, it seems to be easier and more reliable.

You haven't got the latest version of BP yet as its on my hard disk still Wink

We're not sure yet which mod we're using for the tournament yet, either DOE 2, my mod, or the mini tournament rule set i came up which uses modified versions of the default armies you get.  Probobly the last one for a faster paced tournament than usual, but we'll see how the voting goes.

I'll be about for a bit on gameranger if you want.

Certainly a possibility thou default armies save alot of pissing around and allow for a rapid series of games to be played.

Re fair omen
Maybe the solution is to +60 gp ghouls, mummies and bgk.  Then Go thou all units (all races) and +30% them all.  You'd still get 4 different ranges of armies but at 9k the superunits wouldnt be so bad as the undead will have a harder time supporting them.  Items could prob remain the same price.

The games we played of this were quick and fun (we sometimes forget sometimes bigger isn't better), i'd like to try it as a full blown tournament.

However some of the default sides are lacking while others are to powerful.  If people are willing i'd like to alter the default armies to...   (+ indicates a change)

The balancings are rough but it should do.  I've tried for no regiment repeats, 5 to 7 regiments, and no massive changes.  I'll release them as a zip, but comments are welcome before I do.

Darks Mini Tournament

There seems to be alot of downtime in a conquest whilst nothing much happening so if people are interested, to prevent boredom i'll do a mini tournament along side the conquest.

Rules
Participation is voluntary

Players must use the 9 Default armies that come with the game (Warriors of sigmar, etc).

Any player can challenge another.

I've rejiged how ill omens installs and works so it should hopefully work fine for you now, i'm just adding a few features and releasing it with an updated balance to BP based on the coments from the last tourny, shortly.

He only played 2 games and in both cases his opponents made tactical mistakes, watch the vids yourself and think how they could easily played out differently.

Im not saying his undead faction is or isnt overpowered just we can't tell from such games.

Diplomacy will slow down and complicate things in whats meant to be a quick tournament ruleset.  Plus it tends to increase the likelyhood of multiple attacks on one person.  Your square choices left you in a awful strategic posistion at the start of the game, even if you hadn't have counter attacked me jero would have bankrupted you with 2 battles, the starts important, you have got to get as much money as posible whilst reducing the possible number of attacks against yourself from different people, jero placed himself the best at the start and it showed, by round 3 i was his only competion, i could field 3x 9k armies, so could he, all the rest could only field 1.

I had good couple of battles, I did leave all my money and land to olly as a counter point to jero to try stoping the inevitable win by Jero but that was apprently over turned Sad

Last few turnaments the starting desicision seem to make autowins with people not going for the most connection point basically not being able to do much.   This is a bit their own fault but maybe we couldnt mitagate it a bit with you getting (number of players X 2000) + (number of connections) gp for first turn instead of the current 2x connection.

With current rules we got:
Darkmancer: 26k
Itlerion: 14k
Jeronimo: 22k
Kilowic: 16k
Olly: 14k

With suggested we would get:
Darkmancer: 23k
Itlerion: 17k
Jeronimo: 21k
Kilowic: 18k
Olly: 17k

Not a massive difference but reduces the max range in gp from 12k to 6k.
