Export the Sprite as a .Film (FilmStrip) that can be edited with Notepad and the TGA files edited with Gimp.
Any New Sprites must be made in 4bit 16 Colours and Indexed within GIMP ->Image->Mode->Indexed -> 16 colours
"You cannot use transparency in the final image otherwise it turns pink. the first indexed colour needs to be the green DO uses for transparency. Also a common colour is a light blue which DO treats as the units shadow.
Sometimes you have to realign individual sprites when RDOSE throws a hissy fit.
The red dot need to be put at the bottom centre of the unit: not the centre image.
If you need to expand the canvas do it uniformly eg 120% x 120% not 100 x 120. Even if your going to make the new sprite fatter/thinner than before".
Our shared Dream has alwasy been to make the Trading Post (Map 1) into a goblin Camp (we can add the Orc tents already (using Mikademus' Map Text Editor) and change (using Rob's BTB Editor ) the positions of the AI Starting points.
So the Enenmy (now Human or Undead) may suddenly appear in different places. As well as making Player 1 Goblins start in their Camp.
There is also talk of how to drop more AI onto the Battlefield and how to give them Basic Waypoints/Attack Triggers and Max numbers of AI allowed.
If Players take turns to Host and Defend at the Top of The Map, then all will be fair with the Original Deployment Zones.
However, my proposed Deployment Zones were only intended for our Tournaments where we tend to only get to play someone once, unless we clash swords later on in the Semi Finals of the Tournament.
Again, we tend to have "All Rounder Armies" per Race, rather than 2 armies per Race(one for Defending on Maps(Hosting) and another when Attacking (Joining).
Therefore the New Zones, allow each player a piece of High and Low Ground, although I can fully appreciate how it looses its intended key Features.
All contributions welcome and I'm still in total awe when playing Loren Lake and this is all good training for the day when we get to plan and discuss new Map Layouts.
