I think its the best to finish the GUI at the very very last of all.
Right now, some naked buttons and lazy listboxes will do the job as well Wink

I was wondering how difficult it is to change existing files, cause you need to rewrite them from the beginning.
But the power of python is with me!!

To buy units works, there is just the "Goldcoin" problem.
With some tricks, its realy easy, to cheat on the player. Because the data is visible just of a simple "flag"

For now, i'm happy that all things going well!

Hi @ all, long time no see Wink

My dark plan is to write a tool for the lovely campaign, which allows free map selection, to buy and sell units.

The first step was just free mission selection, thats done and works fine (for the first ~ 10 missions, missing the data for the others but thats no problem).

Second is the buy/sell option and, thats the important thing, get the stuff work with the maps.

The Problems!!:
1. Every change (mapselection/buy/sell) needs Gameexit, open Tool+select newest savegame+ do what you want, close tool,start game.
Yes this sucks, but there is no other option ;(

2.I dont know if its a developer joke, but why the hell, i need to tell the game that i want to use my active units on the battlefield? -.-
So a totaly rebuild of ALL goddamn BTB files is nessesary to allow every unit. Otherwise some Units are not available at the battle.
Some Units join the army and later disappear , i.e. the Carlons Cavalry or the Treeman.
Thats because the Unit has an unique unit ID and after i.e. the Treemanmission the game sets the unit with this Id to inactive status.
Good News! Its possible the change all unit Ids(start armyfile PLYR_ALL) and the game still works fine. i.e. numbers from 30-56 instead of 2-28.
With this change, no unit will join or disappear, so all "unitchanges" comes with the campaign tool or they die on battlefield Wink .

3.The Tool itself

I'm new to Python and TKinter, but first steps are done for a simple GUI with missionselection.
Now it seems i could need a helpfull hand from someone who knows more than myself about python and tkinter Wink

How can i:

-set the background for the GUI? I want a background like multiplayer GUI ingame
-set picture for buttons,

or all in one, i want the exactly same GUI like multiplayer armycreation ingame, what whould you do? ^^

Oh I´m so sorry thats my fault, there should be no rock lobber.
It should be disabled at the enemy armyfile but in this version it isn`t.
Yes the rock lobber is too much random, get luck that he doesn`t hit to many times.

I thought it has been disabled  Tongue

I will release the chapter 3 and fixes of 1/2 during the X-mas hollidays. Actualy i have to much trouble.

I found the problem with the sprite of Chaos Knights.

I changed the name of ST_ZZNewGreen1 to ST_ZZNewPlyr3 and the sprite value in the armyfile from 3b to 29.
Now it works fine!  Grin

I have no idea why the ST_ZZNewGreen1 doesn´t work at my DO  Shocked

Oh my dear god!!!
I changed the name back to ST_ZZNewGreen1 and 3b and it works. crazy but interesting

I have found some bugs:

-game chrash if i use the enemyarmy -> use the original with goblins -> works
-1parm PLYR_ALL: coldoneknights -> unitsprite is dwarf -> change to same as leader (2c)
- it seams that the unitsprite 3b cause the crash -> with an other (e.g. BKG) it works
- yes its the sprite, change enemy unitsprite of the chaos knight to BKG and it works fine

The new sprites looks realy good, love the coldones <3 !!

I have tryed to give a goblin shaman (AI controlled) Blast or Burning Head and it works. But sometimes the game crashes.
He uses wargh magic too.
Conflagration of Doom works too.
The game crashed if:
-wrong wizardsprite is used. e.g. goblin with brightspells
-spells are placed at first magic item e.g. burning head works only on slot 2 or 3

if i disable the waaghbook for the goblinshaman (with brightwizardsprite) he uses more the brightspells(blast and conflagration of doom) and only sometimes a waaghspell (gaze of mork)

just some fast trys but i have no idea how it realy works and why it crashes  Shocked

Yes i know, i have  modified my wh32edit and it shows the values in the right name.

But at my last tests, if you give a campaignunit these values and save the game after first battle, the magics disapear.

Yes, but just for the player and only for one battle. If you save your game, the spells disapear. Reason? The game can´t save spells like items. Only wh32editor can do this.

The AI uses the spells of the CTL-file. Any change at the armyfile is useless. e.g. a bright wizard uses darkmage if its a CTL-file with darkmagic.
There are only dark or warghmagic CTL-files  Undecided

If we find the position of the spells in the CTL-file its possible to change them easily.

I like to play with UD-units. But to create a campaign of them they realy suck. Its not there strenght or weakness, its the fact that they cause fear. If you play a battle, it can happen that every time you charge the enemy flees and you kill all without any lose or that nothing happens and you die because the enemy is stronger to avoid the first case.

Its nearly impossible to create a balanced battle without changing the unit stats.
Without changes the battles are stupid as hell.
Flawless victory or allinclusive lose  Angry

Lets increase leadership of the human/orc units to 9 or 10. But then cause fear is useless, so you can delete this flag for all of your UD-units. The reason is, that the enemy with LS 9 or 10 nearly never flees in CC or under heavy attacks.

Hi Flak,

do you need some help with the UD campaign?

I found a way to change the order of the maps (by change grafics), the AI script and to add more units which use the same script as the others.

E.g. Now its possible to play the count carstein map at first instead of the trading post, and with an other script (e.g. goblin camp (mainreason is the available waargh magic) , if you want to attack some gobz in their cave Grin).

Greetings Warlords!

I want to present you a campaign (not finished) with many
changes at the AI-Player, more Enemy Units, greater battles.
As you know, many battles are to easy or the map is realy nice
but the fights are to short or borring and so on.
The goal of this campaign is not the story itself, or to add new
units and races.
The intention is to make the battles more difficulty,
interesting and BIGGER!

But to do this i need your help because everyone has an
other opinion of difficulty.
So please feel free to make any critics at this campaign.
- Whats to easy, to hard?
- Find AI-Bugs, or units do nothing/are stupid
- suggestions to make the battles better

I´m not a good storywriter, if someone wants to write a good
story or have good ideas please add them at the forum.

for the future:

- increase difficult with help and critics of the community

3 Days after the impact:
The Emperor sends a small army to looking for Morgan Bernhardt.
He needs the great mercenary commander to achieve some missions

at the border countries.
At the same time the Princes of Kislev sends his wise whizard

Yuri Fury to a empire trading post to sell some ice creme.

Chapter One

Meeting at the Trading Post

The unim... important trading post is conquered by the

Yuri Fury and the empire guys decide to fight together against

the greens.

After the battle the Emperor, Yuri Fury and Sven Carlsson

decides to help to defend the border countries.


After a funny fight with the greens, the army gets into a trap

at a city in the south. But why the people smell so strange?


Madness at the Empire:
More blood, bones and a stupid woman. But where is Bernhardt?

Chapter Two


Yuri Furys army get enforced by Sven Carlssons cousin Steven

Carlsson and Eusebio the Black. The one is crazy like the other

names. But both are good fighters, rly!


Sylvania, the land of the vampires:
More dead and undead corpses on their way.
But at Caunt Carsteins Castle they discover something
