The trouble is what its hard to catch them even with cavalry, they will be routed (if its mortal riders) or just killed (if its UD). They fire too fast & reload fast & ride fast & have good damage. They are big strategical unit - they can easilly kill enemy mage. And still 3 points... they have low cost in GC, but they are cavalry, even if there only 9 of them. (12 in basic cavalry). Its hard to handle them in big map if you hadnt any cavalry. A bit uncomfortable to play against them. Thats all. Upd: in last battle they killed 30 units, 10+ was cavalry, others was skellies. And it isnt their best result. They killed more than 3 points and 9/9 left.
60% is ready. Status: temporary freezed. (yes, temporary) I will continue work on this campaign later, the first reason is study. Campaign is not too suck, sometimes i need to play 7-9 times the same misson, because im out of gold after mission or just loosed some reqiments. <- It makes progress a bit slow.
Im not sure about dwarves, but great swords can inflict much damage to the enemy. It can be useful sometimes... Remember: they are the only infantry which has 2H weapon. (or im wrong...)
(I always tried to promote all non-ranged units in 1st turn, except grudgebringer cavalry)
-Grudgebringer infantry. (its probably hard to promote, but they are pretty cool even on 2lvl with good items) -Grudgebringer cavalry. -Great swords. -Mortar. -Ice wizzard. -Cannon. -Steam tank. -Glade guards. -Flagellants. -Helmgart bowmen. (yes, they are temporary, but i really liked them)
