Hi, glad to see that Dark Omen is still played by people. I used to run the Dark Omen ICQ list many years ago. After disappointing games like Mark Of Chaos I returned to Dark Omen. And glad to see that the DOC111 is still there.

I have a problem with the DOC111, after downloading Mcafee says it's got a virus. After installation I want to play a campaign but I keep getting the error message

"c:\program files\Dark Omen\DOC111\Prg_eng\smurfpatch.exe
The specified file was not found"

Can anyone help please?

Which file has a virus? Do you have a report (I checked it with different Anti-Virus-Tools: no virus)

With DOC111 you overwrite many files, so you should backup your Dark Omen folder first. The best idea is to add the files manually to your Dark Omn folder (read the enclosed Readmes), so you will have the total controll which files you add.

I think it's a false alert look

McAfee says there's a Univ.script/99b virus in the Doc111\Smurfresources\Armies\Icicle/Lizardmen.txt

I checked it a 2nd time and gave it to an acquaintance: no virus. Btw. did you test the manual adding of the files?

I disabled the virus scan and installed the DOC111 file, but I still get the same message when I try to play a campaign:

How do you install it? I unziped it in my Dark Omen Folder (no extra folder) and pressed the DOC.exe. Now i saw a book where i can choose whatever i want to install.

The installation goes fine, but when i try to play a campaign I get that message.

Which Campaing do you install exactly? I will try them and look if i get also the error.

Hm, don't know what I did but somehow I am now able to play the Undead Campaign haha.

I still am not able to use the "play smurfed Dark Omen' option

Ahh now I see what you mean the red option on the first page. This option is afaik not implemented (therefor it's red )

Aha ok. Strange though, in them good ole days it was possible to use this option.

We hadn't found an other file, sry. But do you have any old files from the past?

Nope, sorry I've looked everywhere but no longer have it. Also used the internet archive but no luck there either.
