Yesterday we had a discussion in the chat if it would be possible to fight with more then 10 regiments (it is possible by using autodeploy btw)

Today I tried it and here is the result:

For some reasons it crashes if you play with too many regiments on both sites so I can only show you the 25 empire units Smiley.

In the zip file are a modified Black Pyramide and 25 Regiment Undead and Empire included.

Just extract them all to GameData.

lol well yes ghabry since 10 is what the game is spose to allowed so ofcz it crashes
besides who could control 25 regiments anyway?

Flak, I think it is somewhat more complicated than that. There seem to be a number of data slots set aside, the actual number seems flexible but we haven't been able to determine how it is derived, and the game will crash when more units than this are used. So the game isn't made for exactly 10 units per side, but the manual pre-battle unit positioning code seems hard-coded to only allow ten units.

Nope. You can auto-deploy virtually any number of units, you just can't manually deploy them.

now to increase the amount upto 25v25 to test the limits

and as Bembelimen suggests-

" I would like to see 25 regiments of goblins with 32units per regiment^^ "

Combine that movable Artillary and Destructable Walls Mods on Extended Size Maps!

So far, after testing it appears that 39 is our Limit.

25v14 works = 39


20v20 sadly doesn't = 40

19v19 works =38

cool patch
i changed all my army lists to auto deploy and we played a day of epics.

lots of levels needed there btb altered a bit, some needed more deploy slots but we ironed out the bugs except one.
That wont allow more than 13 units of good deployed at axbite pass.
some thing must be askew with how each unit is assigned its number(1 to 15) just at axbite.
After battle with just 13 and playing with the btb i found it skips a number.

My fix was to change the humans to Evil but to no avail because some levels or opponents rewrite the army back to good and the army list you buy reinforcements from is set to evil.

but enough of the bad. the poke for removing magic item limit is fun but had to change the prices of them.
and allowing you to deploy 15 units gives a more strategic feel because if you onll buy 10 you can still move them around befor battle. whitch is cool shit.

It would be really good to play a special Tournament some day.

Something like 19 vs 19 premade armies.

In this case, Gabriel would make the DOTSV5 idea work properly, since is about premade armies, but not good with small size (from 5 to 9 regiments). What to do then?

These huge armies, must be balanced between them (call a specialist to set the rosters).
And People only must donwload the pack with all armies, then choose 1 and play battle.

DOC file brings all Premade Armies information, regiments, shields, items in each one.

Only map allowed: Black Pyramide (extended) this is the best scenario for such a epic battle.
Different way as common tournaments, only 1 battle agasint each player in same group.

Dont forget Items and Armors: must be well distributed (big'un with 3 armors in 1 army, while another Rooster has Big'un with 1 armor). Or a Goblin army with Horn of Urgok + 2 Top Goblin shamans Smiley

This is even harder (in my opinion) to make a perfect ruleset, but face it: DOTSV5 has excellent chance in this format.
Make at least 6 armies: 2 for each race, where a Different Wizard is at Head of Army.
Dont forget to set the Monsters Squads and more units like Goblins 32, Ghouls 20, Wights 12, etc.

Hm, I wanted to release the Advent Calendar Map Patch version soon (delayed it to not cause problems in january tournament Wink). It has all auto deploy things fixed for up to 15 regiments...

If you already want it: Map Patch v3, but could cause problems in multiplayer until everybody has it...

You must set the status of all regiments to auto deploy (using Wh32Edit).

(And you need Map Patch v3 of course)

Ive made the Goblin Tribe team in DOE into an all autodeploy army (Except for bolt throwers, so if you want them, dont got over 10) and it works great!
