HUGE BG2 fan here
I never played BG1 tho, but i will be soon as Nitrox has told me about The Baldurs Gate Trilogy mod. A mod that puts BG1 into BG2 graphics.
To my shook horror i realized that my BG2 CDs didnt work, even my backup CDs didnt work so now im waiting for new CDs to arrive before i can play the upgraded BG1

I got BG 1 and BG 2
got BG:T but, it's makes converts BG 1 mechanics to BG 2 graphics etc
but imo it's cool, i can play online but you will need to install some mods that i got if you wanna play with me...
But i'm huge fan of this game, BG 2 i'm completed 36 times and BG 1 only 6-7 times.

well,im a big noob in this game,i used to play it at a friends house, and loved the game but i could not get it to work on my dads pc,but then when i was bored i remembered this awsome dnd based game so now im giving it a try for myself.
i also tried to instal the expansion but it wont work :s
as for bg 2,i heard it was a big step down from bg 1.and when i played a demo of it bg 1 seemed way better(ofcourse a small demo isnt rly conclusive)
i have never played this game online and since my friend always used to help me when i played it at his house im not to 100% formiliar with all the game mechanics but im picking up fast and would love to learn from u guys

i played bg1, 2, and icewindale; it was rather funny.
hovewer i always felt bad when there is gonna be some dialogue choice between evil and good and i also pre-saved game to see result of each option.
like some NPC on land locations for example some "mad" scientists, dryads, etc.
also i remebered killing drizzt.
and it was funny to see dialogues between party.
but i found fallout1-2 much more entertaining (bg gets boring to the end of the game)

ah yeah planescape, also played it.
but i felt it too straight-forward (!!!) since you really cant go for diffirient location as free as at fallout or at least at bg... you have to go in one location then another then another.. where is "no linear" story?? wtf, its just a weird thing (unless you read lots of dialogues).
and i read only half of dialogues.
feel free to attack now

Got it, very good game
And about Fallout series, yes it's very good games but P:T isnt a linear story, alavet in P:T you got like 10 endings or more! o.O So dont whine about moving in locations
it's only game.

I have played every Fallout game I think.
Fallout 1
Fallout 2
Fallout: Tactics
Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel
Fallout: 3
They are all good, except for BOS.
Ofc, F1 and F2 have the best story.
