Count me in and I Vote for FO 9k to see how it has improved with its latest updates. I personally feel if using Armour etc.. then 9k is better suited.

I think DOE's Goblin Army Auto Deployed 20 Units, so one day I would like to take advantage of how the latest Map Patch allows upto 15 units to be Auto Deployed, rather than the traditional 10. Perhaps one day there will be a MOD that incorporates 19v19 and 63k!

Dont agree really. In fact, those who are posting off topic, are the only ones enlisted for May (except few).
Maybe some more will sign up (Darkmancer? Nitrox? Cholio? WHF? olor?). lordbraprus is missing to the list.

Is more important to notice IMO that new members of last Tournament havent re-showed up (neither new ones from past past Tournaments)

Darkmancer + olly have been writen stuff of their discoveries, so there is some DO related, + my recent Brother's idea of creating new sprites, inspired from other games to play in Dark Omen.
Also "Back doors" research, see when olly receives a PM and starts a new thread :)

I did my main part at beggining of month (finishing FO version with shields improvement + Item rebalance).

There has been activity, what else can we do?

im not talking about guys that usually play tourneys but new guys, if you were new and saw that hottest topics on forum arent DO related well ;] and of course now is sunny so this might also be a factor

We are "only" 8 but we shall make it a fun day and more game efficient. So everyone make armies the day before plz so we dont have to wait.

All players also please install Game Ranger and Hamachi so we are covered best. Some players have flickering with GR so both are to be available and the 2 combatants can pick which to use in the individual battles. 

To Fix Dark Omen Flickering on GameRanger, I Alt tab and even press the windows Start key to minimise and return to Desktop and then I have to click back onto Dark Omen and the flicker disappers. On my Laptop I may even have to do this twice, so if the Tournament proves this correct, then I will add it to the Fix Guides.

So. Clearly this is well after the deadline... And clearly none of you have a clue who I am, but I'm going to express interest in joining in. I know for a fact I'm not doing anything for the entrity of tommrow, and although I confess my only multiplayer experience of Dark Omen has been traditional LAN games with a variety of ex-girlfriends, I've been playing Dark Omen, (and indeed, Warhammer Fantasy) for quiet some years now... (And Shadow of the Horned Rat. :) )

All I'd need to know is exactly which version of the game to use, whatever rules and restrictions are in place, and what time to be where Via Missouri time.

Six hours off GMT makes it 11 AM. Should have no problems with that. A link to the right version would be great, and I'll work up a nine k list this evening. Can someone make doubly sure I know all the rules etc? I've no desire to be burnt at the stake for being 'Unfair' or 'Cheesy' or to make some ridicious army everyone's unhappy with. I tend to be a little oddball at times with that sort of thing. I'll keep an eye out here for the rest of the day, although I'm going out for a few hours later. Thanks!

@CIdHalsey: Concerning to RULES, I hope this is enough clear for you.

Armybuilds:There are several rulesets/systems, each one has its features.
This month we will use Fair Omen (won by votation), and its armybuild edition is free... you will read at Document that says "total freedom". The balance in ruleset is preety good for allowing anything, regiments and items resized/repriced.

Battlefield rules: Its not entertaining to fight under certain rules, since the heat of battle, makes you more to think in gaming instead of a ruleset's rules. In this community we are playing with just a slogan DONT PLAY LAME.

LAME means abusing certain tactics to win a battle:
1) "Hit & Run": attacking and going back/turn around a obstacle all time... with fast ranged regiments or Wizards +WINGS.
2) "Camp & Fire": shooting with mortars from a corner and never move ur army, just steady all time waiting enemy to show up.

As I wrote, abusing is what we are agaisnt, doesnt mean you cant do them for a while :)
For now I dont remember anything else that shouldnt be abused (for the FUN SAKE)

My Document has explained how to react when smth called "Wizard BUG" happens, and about Draw Battles.

NOTE: We dont save armies.. all continued battles are with fresh armies of 9k.. Endurance style doesnt fit much for Tournaments, we already tried once (2009 September Tournament)

Rodger that. Anything goes at 9k, but don't be a dick about it, and have a sense of style. Shouldn't be a problem. :)

Added. And I'm lazy about backups. I just keep all the changes I make backuped, and then uninstall and reinstall when required. The joys of having the orginal CD.

(On a side note, I have the Orginal Shadow of the horned Rat CD too, but had to illegally download it from the Internet to make it work. How messed up is that?)

Anyway, to be pointedly back on topic before I earn my first ban, I've doodled up an experiemental basic, and varied list for the Torny tommrow. If it matters, I snagged Undead, (because I'm sick to death of Grudgebringers, and the Greenskin list isn't varied enough for my tastes). 8950 gold. (Couldn't find a way to spend the last 50.) Hamatchi seems to be working, enough to at least converse. I'm mildly worried about connecting successfully to play games though. I was tinkering with Close Combat Invasion normandy on another machine a while ago, and I never got that to work, so bear with me tommrow if I need technical know how from those who've made this work before. (Running Windows Vista, 32 bit, max installation of Fair Omen from a home network.)

Should be a Good Tournament today and can all players please be familar with the Multiplayer Fix Guide. I will also be available to help but remember Patience and testing step by step is the key to success!

i have to admit that in minute 2:14 i almost had a vision that told me , taht he wights would flee, so i sended the ghouls to "help" and hold the line with the flagelants :S that wights... to be SOMETHING in a battle you have to help them with other units or put the defiance banner :S

Just out of interest, are we allowed to use different armies though the tournament?

I've been told we're not but I thought the only rules were just don't play lame.  However some people are using different armies as they go along.

i bet your talking about me darkmancer ;] well im willing to be DQ or something because yes i had couple diffrent armies ;] i started making them around 6pm so technicly tourney was about to start. made about 6 armies tested them in group phase and deleted worst of them before semis

and i took only a quick glance at first page and didnt spot info about that ;/ i really need to take time and read those readme files hehe

Either way I don't think DQ is nessary, but i've had a quick look though the first page and the fair omen ruleset and can't find a mention of it.

i actually won our 3rd honour battle at Finals vs Wkurwiony (i lost 2 first ones) as being GS vs his Empire.

And GS won my semifinal battle with Flak (making it second victory)
actually i make a small trick at our semies with Flak.

I dont know why but Flak always tends to use GS at first tourney battle vs me. And i always laugh my ass off, imaging how i will steamroll it (i always think GS is the weakest army). Hovewer his GS armies usually pretty decent and ownz me good % of time.

So our first battle he used GS and i Empire (and my Emprie army is rather GS oriented, having elves + treeman) so i crushed it.

Second battle i was at loading screen with my Empire  trying to choose what army to use vs his UD - orcs or UD.. Apparently he started battle and i choosed Empire. Then he argued why the hell i swapped my chocie from Emprie (He wanted UD vs Empire, but he forgot i already used Empire). So we started with UD vs UD (worst matchup imo). Andi noticed he has x2 Black Grails, which bothered me a lot;  i had only 1 BGK and rather medium to weak rest army, which could be killed by BGK.. I had Vamprie with osiris also but it could be countered if he had antimagic item at one of BGK.

So game promised to be very uggly, hovewer we started and moved ahead; im not sure how it would be ended, game crushed when i sniped his necro with osiris, so we have to remake.

And then i asked him what if we play our "third" battle, skipping UD vs UD, cause if he will win my GS vs EMpire we'd have to play UD vs UD anyway; hovewer by this i could have soem chances to win right now, skipping scary UD vs UD matchup; and Flak agreed.

Which turned to the the msot epic battle for whole tourney.

Flak had something like x2 flagelaltns (maybe more?), ogres, x3 grails, mage + some other stuff i hvnt remebered (cause i still had Grend sprites and banners which was a big mess for me i nterms of identifying units). We played at Tutorial map.

My army were x2 scorpions (x3 per regiment), x2 trolls,  lvl3orcs shaman, x2 archers, x3 boar boyz. + mork banner, +3 swords (that was important)

game started as he moved hsi grails to the right flank and rest army to the left. I had fists of mork at my shaman, so i was pretty happy about it and moved hi mto the right flank; plan was to kill all his grails with my shaman, while overhelming his flagellants on the left one. At first it looked pretty sweet, i noticed Flak didnt controlled his Grails for round or two so i was happy they're not in battle and charged with my mage + fists.  Meanwhile several regiments of Flak fleed on the left flank and i managed to kil lhis mage so i was pretty happty how battle goes.

Sad thing, mage kileld like 7 grail kngihts and dead. OUCH! Then these regiments charged up my middle and caased fear to few regiments. battle just turned out from "EZ victory" to nightmare.
meanwhile i found several of my regiments awaked from fleeing so i could use them in battle. Left flank of flagellants cutted through my fleeing armies, ardchers handeled them for a few rounds though. I got some advantage at the middle and some of recovered boar boyz at the right flank so i engaged with 2 regiments vs his one 2 times. I used my swords constantly and it worked pretty well. After all, we found ourselves with fighting: his x5 flagellants + 2 ogres (with banner of defiance) vs my 6 boars + ~6 boars both with swords (storm & hellfire). game turned to the dice rolls and constant pumping strenght of units.

drama went futher, my Boars gettign slowly killed, but so do Flak beasts (and i didnt had unbrekability as he). And then disaster, i see my x2 boars white flag fleeing from x1 flagellant, and i realsie flagellant wil lcharge from the rear to my boars, but then suddenly flagellant dying while pursuing (lol).

Then it was like 3-4 boars vs x2 orges, also pretty dramatic moment, since i realzied i didnt have unbreakabaility and u know, ogres has Wounds=3 and thre was 2 of them. And they didnt want to get burned even after x3 roudns of using hellfire sword so i was desperated) Hovewer at the 5-6 round after using hellfire they just died (not fired though) and i won!

i imagine how painfull it was for Flak! I bet he will use magic swords now more! :D

hehe it was a tight battle, i wish i had the items i my Empire army my GS had

I usually consider my GS to be my strongest armies and i like to get a good start to a semi
I also used them in the first group battle with ramiro

I made several mistakes in the 2nd battle i lost my ice mage as he got lost and killed by boars, and my damm elven archers got killed as they got too close to a boar regiment who routed my dwarf warriors.

I have nobody to thank but myself for losing that 2nd one

i really think i try to record videos next tourney, cause soemtimes we have so much close battles like 1v1 fightings its so ridicilous and funny. And oh well, you could enjoy cannons maybe too (jsut like me).
