It seems, that sometimes some player have problems to find the "correct" time, when a tournament starts.
So I will explain, how it (normaly) work.

Let's say as example, the tournament will start at 5pm gmt+0, you have to join at 4:30 pm gmt+0 and you live in Clipperton Island

Ok first you have to check, in which time zone you life: List of time zones. (Use Ctrl+F for searching in the common browsers).

Clipperton Island is UTC-8, so it is gmt -8. (gmt is the "British term" for utc, see Wikipedia for more information).

At least we have to count the hours from the time zone: 5pm - 8 = 9am. So the tournament would start at 9am local time Clipperton Island and you should join the chat at (4:40pm - 8 ) 8:30am.

easy huh?

Ok it's not that easy. Between the last Sunday in March and the last Sunday in October, the UK (and other countrys) have a DST. So now you have to check, if your country has this too. Regions marked with asterisks (* or **) observe daylight saving time, sometimes it stand above the country (see the list of time zones link above). So now we see, that Clipperton Island has NO *, so there is NO DST.

At the moment we have DST in the UK so we have to calculate them too: We add -1 to our 9am => 8am. Now we have the final time.

I hope I did no error and the text is a little bit understandable. Feel free to ask questions.

hi guys

dont know where exactly find it but surely there are many on internet. I'm talking about "virtual time clocks" and u should add one on the main page ( or anywhere ) so that way all of us could follow an unique time clock no matter continents, countries, islands, bridges, closets...

these cloks are offered freely by many providers using some kind of java code to be insert on any website, bad point is that almost always u must accept some kind of publicity on your website.

pls check this point, surely is very usefull for everybody.

Vista has support for multiple Clocks.
It's a good idea to add a clock that displays UTC time Smiley.

The default time is gmt +0

You can go to your Profile => Look and Layout Preferences, there you can insert your time zone. Then you will have "your" time if you're logged in and the gmt +0 time if you're logged out.
