Title: Re: Tournament Post by: bembelimen on September 26, 2008, 02:27:02 PM Hi Cholio
Only lvl 1 regiments are allowed, that also includes wizards. Title: Re: Tournament Post by: bembelimen on September 26, 2008, 07:31:21 PM Due the fact, that we have only 10 player, we changed the groups a little bit. Now we have 2 groups with 5 player. Every player fights agains each other. The best four players reach the finals.
Title: Re: Tournament Post by: Cholio on September 26, 2008, 11:13:01 PM Correct me if iam wrong, the tourney starts 17:00 pm UTC time. Wich is if you live in sweden and germany 18:00 pm. Am i right? im wondering cause im not sure, and i wouldnt wanna show up late :)
Title: Re: Tournament Post by: Ghabry on September 26, 2008, 11:27:52 PM Correct Cholio, UTC = GMT (Americans prefer UTC imo ^^). So the tournament starts at 18 pm UTC +1.
Expect a hard fight (against me ;)) Title: Re: Tournament Post by: olly on September 26, 2008, 11:57:11 PM (http://img407.imageshack.us/img407/5917/nitegobvf9.th.jpg) (http://img407.imageshack.us/my.php?image=nitegobvf9.jpg)

- when im playing i can't minimize the windows and go to the chat because it crash the game, so, how can i arrenge with my opponent how to deploy our units in a fair way? im mean don't wait until the other finish to put his units and prepare for battle, and then i begin to deploy my units - there is some "house rule" that refer to the extreme defensive action in every play of one player? i'm talking of those who put all his army inthe back and wait for the other to attack even when as already pass 20 minutes of play (i think my english its getting worse with every second i hope someaone understand what im writing) - who is the host of the session? the opponents decide in a gentleman conversation that can turn in a Monthy Pithon sketch (please you can begin; oh no way its your turn; oh nono i refuse you must begin!; you idiot start the game at once!!..and so on) well, im in bar and they are closing so i must go, maybe i write somthing mor later, bye! Title: Re: Tournament Post by: laffo16 on September 27, 2008, 09:44:47 AM i think deployment is something that needs looking at also. now their are 3 ways i can think of.
1) both players deploy at the same time until both are happy with each others deployment and click start. just the same as in the friendly matches which are played. 2) player one deploys a regiment, types "1 done" into the in game convo, player two deploys a regiment, types "1 done" into convo player one deploys a regiment, types "2 done" player two deploys a regiment, types "2 done" etc.. and take it in turns. main problem with this i think is that it is too easy to begin the game with an accidental {ENTER} IRC bot generates a dice roll which decides which player must go first. (123 player one. 456 player two) 3) IRC bot generates a dice roll which determins which army is deployed first. the complete army for that player is deployed first before the other player begins his deployment. i think a map list of only the fairest of maps is needed. could we get 3D screen shots from mika's map viewer of each map on the website. Title: Re: Tournament Post by: bembelimen on September 27, 2008, 10:57:56 AM Hi all
- when im playing i can't minimize the windows and go to the chat because it crash the game, so, how can i arrenge with my opponent how to deploy our units in a fair way? im mean don't wait until the other finish to put his units and prepare for battle, and then i begin to deploy my units You can chat in the game by pressing "T" and sending the message with [ENTER]. So you can ask your opponent if he is ready. And I think, that we're enough gentlemenlike, so that we don't move the regiments, when the opponent clicked start. - there is some "house rule" that refer to the extreme defensive action in every play of one player? i'm talking of those who put all his army inthe back and wait for the other to attack even when as already pass 20 minutes of play (i think my english its getting worse with every second i hope someaone understand what im writing) The advantage of the 3000/10 rules is, that you don't have enough regiments to be defensive (I think), you cannot control the whole map and see all enemys, so "you" as attacker have always the chance to attack. - who is the host of the session? the opponents decide in a gentleman conversation that can turn in a Monthy Pithon sketch (please you can begin; oh no way its your turn; oh nono i refuse you must begin!; you idiot start the game at once!!..and so on) I will set up the battles in the next post. The first player is the host (if, and only if, the connection will not work, you can change). i think a map list of only the fairest of maps is needed. could we get 3D screen shots from mika's map viewer of each map on the website. I will do that. Title: Matches Post by: bembelimen on September 27, 2008, 11:26:02 AM

That was Great and I look forward to more in the Future. I played some really cool Battles, Thanks All :) Title: Re: Tournament Post by: Cholio on September 27, 2008, 11:30:13 PM Hey, yeah il make sure to stop by to see the replays :) . And i sure hope that we make more of these tourneys, someone need to challenge me for that 3000/10 title :D.
quick note, i didnt win vs sickie in the 5th round, he won that one:) Title: Re: Tournament Post by: bembelimen on September 28, 2008, 10:47:59 AM quick note, i didnt win vs sickie in the 5th round, he won that one:) Hehe right, I changed that. I was to tired to recognize that..... And i sure hope that we make more of these tourneys, someone need to challenge me for that 3000/10 title Cheesy. We will do. Btw. we need some feedback, how we can improve the 3000/10 rules. The first idea is using half points like 0.5, 1.5, 2.5 etc. for some items/regiments. Title: Re: Tournament Post by: Mikademus on September 28, 2008, 11:00:39 PM Also need 7000/10 and 64000 tournament rule sets, or something like it...
Title: Re: Tournament Post by: bembelimen on September 29, 2008, 11:00:11 AM Also need 7000/10 and 64000 tournament rule sets, or something like it... Do you have any ideas how we can make a 7000/10 (or 7000/30) rule set? (fast food (http://wiki.dark-omen.org/)) what is a 64000 tournament rule sets? no limitation in money? Title: Re: Tournament Post by: Mikademus on September 29, 2008, 09:02:21 PM Yes, cheat gold and not limitations, Olly tells us he has great fun with those.
Title: Re: Tournament Post by: olly on September 30, 2008, 12:44:08 AM Myself and Villetrettenmeth both love to play with the Excellent DOC111 mod armies
(see download section) that provides all single player Units into Multiplayer Such as Dread King, Steam Tank and many more... As it's all Good Fun! :) and also play with 63000gc to Max out all Units in experience and armour. Villetrettenmeth will provide some initial Tornament Structure. Perhaps we could host the modded 6300gc Tournament on a Modded exisiting Map such as The Brettonian River Crossing. We could alter the deployment zones(switch to different ends of the maps) and re-texture the Map to Egyptian. Then use the DarkOmen Text Map Editor, to drop in some Pyramids and Jewel on the island. Also combining Byrus Blood River idea for both Rivers and Switch to Night Time which will all add new Tactics into an existing Map. A great Taster of the Potential Power of the New Dark Omen Map Editor. :) Title: Re: Tournament Post by: bembelimen on October 04, 2008, 09:28:53 AM Sounds good, make a suggestion how we can make the rule set for unlimited gold....
Title: Re: Tournament Post by: Ghabry on October 06, 2008, 08:48:40 PM Videos are online:
First Round: Bananass http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=65QpvNOfsUE (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=65QpvNOfsUE) djlebomb http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EbsXnUMEVAg (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EbsXnUMEVAg) zerg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IbACCP0ASp8 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IbACCP0ASp8) Looser Round: djlebomb http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ottfLTTyWbw (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ottfLTTyWbw) olly http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k1WPjgHSxHs (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k1WPjgHSxHs) Title: Re: Tournament Post by: sickie on October 07, 2008, 06:54:53 PM was pretty suprised over the 2 units that bananas had hehe def the cannon, who attacked ur pistoliers ghabry, :D
funny fights anyway Title: Re: Tournament Post by: sickie on October 07, 2008, 06:57:39 PM and btw,, hehe doc111, i have tried to get it to work, loooads of times, but just dont work for me hehe,
2 possible reasons, 1 of em seems more likely to be true i suck with comps or something is wrong with me doc111 hehe i think it is the first one Title: Re: Tournament Post by: bembelimen on October 09, 2008, 10:46:25 PM When I find the time I will split the doc111 and write a tutorial; easy install => easy play
Title: Re: Tournament Post by: DjLeBomb on October 14, 2008, 04:06:54 AM I think that before change the rules we should make at least a couple more of 3000/10 tournaments. Also i think that the Pistoliers must have the same cost and restrictions that the Black Grial.... ;D haha it's a joke (Looser Round:
djlebomb Video :-[ ) Title: Re: Tournament Post by: bembelimen on October 14, 2008, 01:05:51 PM I think, that the basic rules are ok, but perhaps we should increase the "2nd" buy....so if you buy the first greatsword, it costs 1 point....but if you buy a second one, the second cost 2 points....
Title: Re: Tournament Post by: Ghabry on October 14, 2008, 03:01:06 PM This would be a great idea against halbardier, greatsword and elf glade guard spamming (such rush attacks are hard to defend with the wrong regiments (no pistoliers e.g. ^^))
