When playing as the Empire, I like to use Orgres,

especially combined with the Banner Of Defiance!

This makes them a very Powerful Hand to Hand unit,

that will not Flee-Route as easily/if ever and stay and fight,

Until the Last one Stands Alone!

I played against it last night; man, they really stuck around for the long haul! They spent the entire game fighting a unit of Wights with the Defiance Banner (who are kinda the ogres UD equiv) and zombies, to which I threw in 2 units of skellie archers and another zombie unit when they were free to try and kill them off. The ogres munched their way through most of the wights, who if they hadnt had the banner im the ogres probably would have won and crushed my army.

If the enemy army doesnt have any units with real hitting power those ogres can be a righteous pain.

i always like banner of defiance

my preferred regiment with the banner is the Big'uns, they are rather nasty with it too

I completely agree with Flak, concerning Orc Biguns and Banner of Defiance,

with out it, they all simply Flee too easily, especially from Undead,

who naturally cause Fear.

I can't wait until there are new units available that are imune to fear and

save us from using the Banner of Defiance on them.

Such as Dwarf Slayers (unbreakable) or some crazy Orc/Goblin unit (Giant etc)

I'd noticed that ogres dont do much damage, but recently had a game where Ogres and Big 'Uns w/ the Banner went head-to-head. The Ogres all died, killing only 1 Big 'Un. Im seriously wondering if ogres are actually quite so good as banner carriers as I thought.

Mhh if someone is fancy for it, you could test it. 3 times 10 vs 10. 1. ogres attack 2. big'uns attack 3. both attack.

Funny thing is, the opposite happened in oen of my tournament games; the Big Uns all died with 2 Ogres surviving. That said, the survivors must have been brought down to their last wounds when my other troops turned up. Im still generally find Ogres a bit iffy when it comes to making good use of their sticking around for the long haul.
