Comrrrrrades,
There is something I don't like in the army building : we can't choose the size of a regiment.
We could mod a little the game files.
For each "regular" regiment (not the mages, catapults etc), we can add two new versions : half (/2 and -1) and extended (x1.5 and + 1).

For example, for a regiment of 20 dudes, at the price of (500 coins and 2 points) :
- Half version : 10 guys (250/1)
- Regular version : 20 guys (500/2)
- Extended version : 30 guys (750/3)

What do you think ? Builds could become more flexible (nobody uses cavalery, since their price is too much for 3k/10 battles ; a few knights could be useful to hunt THESE DAMN MAGOS).

ive had units edited for multiplayer battles in the past and they made the games very unstable.
The editing was made up to 7-10 years ago and new tools available might improve stability, but serious testing is essential, nothing would be more annoying and time consuming than to have tournament battles crash.

Okay, I did it for the UD.
Sadly I don't have any access to the download plateform on the website, so here comes the megaupload :

Paste the file into :

A copy of the original files is available on the website, don't worry.

Looks like it works... I can see the new units in the book.
I changed :
- number of dudes
- coins value
- maximum ranks
- unit names
My old armies files are not corrupted.

I'm going right now to the chat to find a victim.

First test with Bemb : epic win !

Now I'm gonna do the other races, and see if everybody is alright to use these new rules for the tournament.

EDIT:
Bemb thniks that the -1/+1 adjustment is not good.

I can see the Potential ability and cost association by offerring a Smaller or Larger Troop,

as Morgrim Neck Snapper (a lone Orc Boar Rider, in DOC111, who has banner of Mork permanetely attached to him)

was desigined to be more maneourvable on the Battlefield to allow him to hunt down and Kill Wizards.

(just cost and unit size) then I gladly welcome any new additions.

im all in for the adding of Campaign units such as Carlsons and Ragnars but im not too fond of the double and half regiments, not for a start anyway, it could well end up with a huge cluster of units that are hard to estimate in value and strength.

indeed i think its a fantastic job, but i don't like the idea of include it in the tournaments. Besides, the idea of make this changes and not alter the stats it seems nonsense to me, the same with the idea of having to vote to include the missing units (Carlsson's, Ragnar, Dread King, etc); i mean, when the map patch was released, there was only announcements, no discussion about it, and i think that we all agree that some maps can balance or unbalance the battles, but also we all seem to agree that its great to have the possibility to choose from all of them. But truth is that even i'm from "the group" that think that the game is originally quite well balanced, and for that is the reason that we enjoy it all this years before the site was created, i also don't mind to make certain modifications or corrections (like improve the stats of the Dwarfs and/or fix the fear factor in the Ogres)

So, my idea (yes, to be discussed) is to have 2 tournaments (at least for now); One CLASSIC TOURNAMENT, in wich we only include the map patch (also maybe the missing units, or some of them) and a rule to organize the units; and one MOD TOURNAMENT, in wich we allow all the modifications or ideas accepted by the most members of the community, even modifications in the stats.

Yes, i think (prejudice) that i will enjoy more the Classic tourny but i will also play the Mod, this isn't about making some clasic and mod ghettos, even more when i think that for now we hardly reach the 8 participants in the tournaments
