Hey everyone, I know it's a bit strange of making a whole topic about it, but I was just wondering, what are the main differences of the PC version of Dark Omen and the PSX version? The only things I could remember were the soundtrack was more different and no multiplayer... Does anyone know anything else? Or there really aren't any more differences?

We have a German Topic about the Differences in PSX Version.
Maybe we should translate it sometime or use google translate for it please ^^.

Some differences:
You have to select the regiments before the map is loaded
The selected regiments are auto deployed but you can move them around
You can only play with 8 regiments

Also, the PSX version has a simplified interface with four instead of six buttons to match the PSX's ☓○△□ keys.

Igor Kool, im not too sure but in PS version there were more missions. As i remember one: if you decline to help ogres, you will fight against them, but im not sure! (im doesnt played DO on PS, i was only observer for long time). Maybe there some more different/additional missions.
I will repeat im not sure it was long time ago, but im remember this and this is strange!

I extracted the Singleplayer Army File out of the Iso (using a hex editor because I couldn't find the file Wink).

Changes compared to PC-Version:

Different Values in unimportant sections of the header (random garbage data Wink)
Ogres have unknown unit type 0x47 (!)
Dwarfs have reduced Weapon Skill (4 instead of 5) and reduced Strength (3 instead of 4)
Grail Knights have reduced Toughness (3 instead of 4)

I attached the file.

edit: Found the file
X:\DARKOMEN\HOST\HOSTORG.DAT at offset 0x75C800

my gues is that they are stronger on ps(just seems like some units performed better on ps game then they do on pc game)

No they are worse on Playstation but on the other hand the number of enemies is sometimes reduced.

Some differences:
You have to select the regiments before the map is loaded

This also includes opportunity to open troop roster before 1st battle, so you can buy extra armor at 1st mission (if my memory is correct - you cant do so in PC version).
