Hello everyone. Im not LordBraprus. Im Jeronimo, his brother.
The archive contains my latest creation: a new way to play this game, never seen, never thought.
There are 8 pages of explanation. This may seem strange at first but i assure you that nothing is bad with the Mod.
Every part is well explained: why are regiments and items costs balanced, number of soldiers, a different way to buy shields and get experienced troops, etc.
I would have posted the finished Mod, but actually me and my brother dont know how to make this dream possible because we dont know: change items costs, shield system and regiments costs well (seems that the editor works with multiples of 3 only, so i had to adjust the numbers from 200 to 198 for example and thats no the real number).
So read it and tell us your opinnion.
I wait for any hopeful answer. Bye.

you sir did really hard work compiling this
i've jsut revieved it and foudn a lot of interesting ideas (which i think we be greatly used in wartbed) an there is my notes:

1) shield system - i agree completely. you're right, noone is uses shields (apart from 1-3 units) so decreasing it in price a great option!

2) numbers of heads in regiments: i like how you changed Imperial Halberdiers, Realm knights, etc in heads. very ncie idea since there was a lot of duplicate units in the game.

2) experienced units:
first of all, i have to say that mages should have very diffirient pricing system for their levels. their power increases in cost like hell, and standard 1,5 multiplier cannot be used for them.
anything else should be tested cause i didnt much used lvl2+ units due of rules limitation, but im sure that soem special units (like bgk, mummies and maybe somethign else) should be priced specially priced for every new lvl.

3) prices: this section i will disagree a most.
-all arty untis should be greatly increased in cost. their power is very good; 350 for mortair is just plain small. i tink starting point should be 650 at very least for morty, and little for lobber and less for UD catapuilt (since its notg accurate at all)
-elf archers for 500  comparing to the imperial bowmen for 450 is very illogical. elves is like x2.5 times betetr than imperial bowmen, they will jsut crush everything. elves should be priced not lower than 800 at very least
-ogres cost too small for their stats. they have very good fighting skills and with causing fear their power icnreases greatly. 550-600 is a minimum.
-treeman reduced too much. its a very good unit, 900gc for 5k armies will be a disaster... i advice to make him 1100
-"Another point is the combined Siege Weaponry cost In the Empire, Cannon + Mortar is 600gc. With Greenskins, Bolt Thrower + Rock Lobber is 600gc too." not true. canon cannot be compared with throw bolter, not at all; as well as mortair has much better accuracy comparing to the lobber.
-mummies cost is too low. this is the best meele unit in the game after grails; cost should be 1000 at least.
-skeleton's cost is too big (skel. archer too). their stats too bad for such price.
-black grail for 1200
-you priced skeleton catapuilt bigger than mortair. its not good.
-vampire maybe should've cost evem more.

4) items cost. horn should be priced not less than 2,0-2.4k especially with lowered unit price.
-dragonhelm for 50
-staff of osiris for 400 - its a moving canon. its not even clost in effect for the fireball, cause fireball misses a lot, need a good targeting and even hits kills only 1 unit. staff of osiris is a mage/monster killer and might kill as much as 5 units at one shot (see replay of gharby of June tourney in my fight)
-banner of defiance for 350. its a very good item, very, VERY good. it provides unbreakability which increases regiment power pretty much. especially mummies.

overall i pretty like that you did all the stuff and made so much work. very nice to see the interest, and i think modified version of your FO should be used at DO community for standard battles!

however after reading i had a feeling that you didn't faced some game situation enough; it comes from your pricing for UD catapuilt, elves, unbreakable mummies, etc.

also please advice, do you know warhammer rules and particular stats for most regiments? for example you might see post from Single player section where is fully analyzed why Skeletons a very weak unit (even its unbreakable one) or how battles usually processed.

what about you will test this new system with more people, especially taking in account my and other players (which for sure will post) suggestions and see what happens?
im sure we're able to create a new, good system instead of standard one (with 3,2k gc cost for treeeman pffff)

[ask me if i will have time, my nickname in hamachi is the same as there]

wtf, so many text in the doc file Wink.

At first I have to say that I don't like it to replace the Arm-Files of the Army-Designer. That's one of the reasons why I like the Point-Rules we always use. And it prevents problems that somebody creates his armies with the wrong army-file e.g.

I only took a quick look over your description file because I'm too tired at the moment to read so many text. I will have a deeper look at it later.

How have you set the prices for the shields? Because I could never find a way to set them to the values I want. Tell me the secret Smiley.

Don't blame me for the multiple of 3-feature of the costs. That's not the fault of my editor. Tell the Dark Omen Developers that this idea was bad.

For modifying the Item Costs you can use my Itemprice Editor. The Problem is that the costs are hardcoded in the engrel.exe and editing this file is also not so nice imo :/. The values must be a multiple of 5 btw, but this is much better then 3 Wink.

I will write a more detailed post during the next days.

I downloaded it thinking I'd just skim your text quickly, but I read all of it! Very good analysis, conclusions and ideas! I agree that some testing would be good, but I'd say you're on to something, and I'd like to see more of your analyses! This text is also an excellent candidate for a wiki article!

Good work!

Hello again. I'm Jeronimo. Here i leave the new FO, considering Avalet suggestions (artillery accuracy, elfs, mummies, etc) and after comparing attributes with the editor of Ghabry. The only missing part to change is the "shields system".
I thank you guys for your attention and good willing to help. With the Item editor I could change the Items prices.
After all, FO can already be played (about shields, its a matter of time until someone discovers how to change them)

The new .doc is shorter (4 pages) because i understand that reading 8 pages requires heavy attention, so I wrote something brief, with tables and compact info explaining the new shield system/new experienced troops scale.
Everything can be explained; I'm here to respond any question (I thought carefully in all Regiment/Shields/Items prices)

Inside ZIP you will find "2parm" carpet (Regiments changed)/file.doc
The Engrel cannot be uploaded here because its too heavy (like 1.1 mb)
Cheesy:D:D !!I hope you like it!! Cheesy:D:D

No linking to engrel.exe e.g.

I attached a modified version of your Mod containing a Patch-File for engrel (patch against the ENGLISH Engrel e.g. with LIPS (included))

(in LIPS change the file filter from Rom File to All Files...)
