I think its illegal to give you any direct download links here.
If you want this game so bad, you will find it (not to mention, you can still buy it Wink ).
2  Warhammer Dark Omen Community / Tavern / Re: Warcraft 3 map in style of Dark Omen on: August 19, 2012, 09:11:13 AM
Good or not, map will use its own troop stats system.

For Melee/Ranged** troops:
1)Members. Number of regiment size. [number of soldiers+leader]
2)Offensive. Melee/Ranged battle skill. [(all members dmg/attack delay)/all members))*10]
3)Defensive. Level of survivability. [all members HP*(regiment max morale/100)]
4)Armour. Chance of full damage block. [fixed %]
5)Speed. Regiment movement speed. [fixed value]
6)Vision. Regiment vision sight. Displays both day/night vision.

For artillery troops***:
1)Crew. Number of escort crew. [number of soldiers, not include artillery unit itself]
2)Power. Overall power of artillery unit. [damage/reload delay)
3)Range. Fire distance information. Displays minimum range and maximum range.
4)Armour. Chance of full damage block. [fixed %]
5)Speed. Regiment movement speed. [fixed value]
6)Vision. Regiment vision sight. Displays both day/night vision.

**Ranged regiments (archers, etc.) dont have any melee. They just cant strike back melee troops.
***Artillery crew is X race standart infantry. X - any race.]

Warcraft 3 allow unit to carry up to 6 items. In fact, this makes possible to make dozens of interesting items for them to choose (there will also be weak items to spare little gold left).

The real negative thing is - only thing connecting dark omen and map is that you command squads. Game style is different.
In case of 360 degree vision, i made recon units (light infantry regiment in all races, except orcs). They have Good sight range, slightly better speed (than normal infantry) but worse battle skill.

All in all this system is not much informative but it makes regiment comparing easier for begginers.
First test battle would be 1vs1 Empire VS S.Alliance [date still cant be revealed].
3  Warhammer Dark Omen Community / Tavern / Warcraft 3 map in style of Dark Omen on: August 16, 2012, 09:24:39 PM
Im currently making map in warcraft 3 editor with single idea: make a map where you control squads, not single units.
For the moments - everuthing going ok and it will be done some day.

Races (names still in development):
1. Empire Union: elves & humans
2. Warriorz Clan: orcs & trolls
3. Shadow Alliance: mostly night elves
4. Undead legion: only undead

Pros:
+up to 4 peoples in single battle. (including 2vs2)
+very convenient controls (first squad you buy binds for F1, second for F2 and so on. press one time for troops selection, second time to centre screen on that regiment).
+many things will be the same (manual control of artillery & archers, etc.).
+variety of magic items; some troops have special abilities; racial bonuses and other features.

Cons:
-maximum regiment size = 13 due to warcraft ]l[ restrictions.
-360 degree troop vision (im still working on this, but its basic war3 vision degree).
-no bonusses from the rear/side attack.
-near primitive battle system (it will be improved by the time).

I wouldnt post here for no reason, i need some help (its not related with editor or creating something).

If i will not find a solution about removing 360 degree vision, what can be other solution?
Also, i can miss some important things while making map, if you have some interest or at least ideas, i will gladly hear them.

When map will be released i can post gameplay video here (2vs2 battle).
4  Warhammer Dark Omen / Singleplayer / Re: Last mission and replay on: July 31, 2012, 04:32:46 PM
If you only copy saved troops in plyrall you won't get them at start. As i know how it will work - you will get them in the game process as in original. Only thing i can suggest is to swap any of starting regiments with another one which you want from the start. Example : swap ice mage with g-cannon; Result: you will get ice mage in 1st mission instead of g-cannon. If you want make troops experienced at start - edit experience, you can also add magic items.

** dont you think if you start with high level troops game will be too easy and boring?
*** if you do, edit enemy army files and make enemy armies "leveled up"/"increased in numbers".
**** you can also modify enemy regiments items so they will drop different item, give it a try (you wanted new items).

P.S. if i catch your idea right: swap g-cav with ogres, g-inf with flagellants, bright wiz  with ice mage, cannon with pistoliers. I think its like best solution.
5  Warhammer Dark Omen Community / Tavern / Fully TurnBased Dark Omen on: July 31, 2012, 11:18:57 AM
If Dark Omen used full turn based system (not only "rounds" in melee, etc.).
I mean, movement 4 means troop can past 4 squares or whatever and so on.
This poll has purpose, but i will not reveal it (nor you need it).

*You can vote for 2 options if you are not sure (but dont vote both for "good" and "bad" please).

I think if Dark Omen had alternate game mode (turn based with TCG system) it would be great, but it isnt new idea anyway. If i do remember right, there is plenty of such games, but i didnt tried any of them yet.
6  Warhammer Dark Omen / Singleplayer / Re: What are you're favorite units in the campaing? on: July 29, 2012, 08:06:05 AM
I like bright wizard with flamestorm spell in some first missions. Undead archers are burning well.

1)Its possible to change players troops, you can even play with them in 1st mission, but when you go to a troop roster - game will crash (It needs more tests, maybe i chagned wrong values).

2)Also, if I replace any original file of iso (even with its own copy) - game videos will be corrupted (if you will try to watch them game will crash, still there is about 1-2 secs to skip it). Music ingame wont be played either. *

*Why this occurs? Should i use different iso edit tool or what.

How i edited player armies:
1.) downloaded "extracted from hex code army file" from Gharby's post.
2.) made multiple copies of it.
3.) edited one of the copy with wh32edit, saved it.
4.) opened with hex editor original "extracted from hex code army file", so i can copy its values.
5.) opened original Hostorg.dat and searched for copied hexes.
6.) opened new army file in hex editor and copied new values.
7.) replaced old Hostorg.dat army hexes with new ones (with accuracy).
8.) saved new Hostorg.dat.
9.) opened original iso with Ultraiso.
10.) replaced original Hostorg.dat with edited Hostorg.dat.
11.) saved changes in iso.
12.) then i done some iso convertings and launched game.
result: see trouble n1.

Editing enemy armies is as easy like replace pc versions army files. But i didnt tried it much yet.
Only thing i know for 100% is that its safe to edit enemy troop sizes (ex: from 16 goblins to 26 goblins).

I will read most of "editing tools" topics in near time before asking any more questions.

Some differences:
You have to select the regiments before the map is loaded

This also includes opportunity to open troop roster before 1st battle, so you can buy extra armor at 1st mission (if my memory is correct - you cant do so in PC version).

Hello TheRon!

P.S. this screenshot looks very promising =)

Im not sure, but...
Could be "goblin flag(trading post only)" be a passive, which gives a regiment vision of 360 degrees? I think so because when i got my infantry behind goblin archers (my troop was also behind trees) - they still had vision of them no matter how much i was waiting for "in cover" status. It is a reason why you cant attack them from behind freely (because they dont manually move if you dont fire at them for 2 times and you are able to attack them harmlessly from behind IF they wouldnt see you for 360 degrees). Sorry for my bad language.

P.S. this thing (360 degrees vision of 1 mission goblins) was in PSX version of game, so i didnt tried it on PC dark omen.
I will try it out on PC, but much later.
12  Modifications / Campaigns / Modding PSX Dark Omen?! on: July 19, 2012, 08:14:30 PM
Hi there dark omen fans!
Some days ago i got my hands on a psx dark omen disk [ntsc version] and tried to modify enemy army files with wh32edit.
Well, it worked just fine (tested on my psp), but i cant find file which contains players armies (like plyr_all.arm in PC version). I searched whole disk for it - no results.

Any ideas where it can be or which file includes it (etc)?

Its cool to have Dark Omen handheld version, but when you completed original campaign for many times, you want some more.
13  Modifications / Campaigns / Re: Orc Campaign on: November 20, 2009, 07:16:20 PM
a tip for you if you like me when making campaigns is annoyed that mages cant change books or will crash if they do.
Give the AI a base mage and then add 3 spells of the book that you like him to have, Malus has a topic somewhere with all the codes for adding magic as i think you may know as the "Sage" has fist of gork on lvl 1 mage Wink

Great hint! Thanks!

Diplomacy:
We at war, Flak. Whats the problem?
Alavet, i havnt too much armies. Also they are far away from your armies. So, if only i will beat Flak some, i will set reinforcements to you.

Moves:
UDrow1 attacks from 1-1-B towards 4-9-B (multi attack) if Flak will move his UN5 to 1-13-B, this army will attack it.
UDrow2 attacks from 1-7-B towards 4-9-B (multi attack)
UDrow5 attacks from 1-10-B towards 1-13-B
