New to PC DO

Hello people, my name is Christopher and I am addicted to DO. 

I have "owned"? Dark Omen for PS for years and have not played it in ages. (I used to be hooked) Recently I was reminded that this game exists but I had noticed  my disc went missing. No big deal I thought and headed to ebay for a replacement when I found out there was a PC version..... with a multilayer mode... SQUEEEE 

Now this knowledge is all very new to me (24 hours old to be precise) but I have allot of questions. I am sure the answers are out there...

1. Can I get DO to work on vista without being a l33t Ha)(0r?
 If no- Damn I just bought it off ebay. WHHHHYYYY!? 
 If yes- Continue on 
2. Multiplayer sounds like a blast. I am not quite sure what some of the lingo means. Example 5k/15 ?
3. There are mods in progress that change stats and sizes of units and even add new units! Why are pics of these new units so obscure and hidden. These pics should be all over the place.    IS there a gallery of new "models" I can browse? (My game is at least a week away I need something to drool over)
4. I have come to realize that the ps version seems like the watered down version of this game and now that I see the little differences between the two it is like starting new all over again.

Seems like a great community.

Would you like to take part in a DO tournament this Saturday 8?

The ruleset is 5k/15, means we make armies with 5000 gold, and using 15 points. Army musnt exceed 15 points, there is a page in wiki that shows you the pointing for each regiment.

I can't wait to play multiplayer but like I said I just ordered the game from the U.S. last night so it will probably take a week or so for it to show arrive in the mail.

So you guys vote from the rulesets to decide what format your going to play?  What set is the most popular usually?

hi there cristhoper , i just say, .. but me and jeronimo for example have downloaded the game by torrent in TPB the pirate bay, it requires NO cd and have 3 languages.. i leave you the link .

and well i explain some things about mods.

there are several mod or rulesets.

a part of them HAVE NOT NEW UNITS OR MODIFFIED STATS/REGIMENTS and other part DO have modiffed ... well..
the NO modded ruleset are the 5k/15 or 9k/30 wich basicly is , put to all regiments an amount of point cost , you only can buy regiments level 1 and the magic items have point cost ass well, so if you play 5k/15 taht means that you can buy 5000 gold coins army, and the total points cost of the regiments bought can not pass 15. EASY

so, now , the modded rulesets are, ruleset that required a couple of softwares to change stats of units (not a lot because, after all, it is based in warhammer rules, but if there is a new units, yes, you reemplace an old one by the new, so you cahnge all stats XD) change units=regiments size and gold cost, add shields and change the magic items costs.

and , there are mods that beside the stas/prices changes, they add new units

why changes prices/units size? well in the mods that use original dark omen regiments anda races, we, the players that made mods, made it because we wanted to BALANCE the game, because the original dark omen multiplayer mod is very awfull, horrible and SUPER unbalanced, and have 2 o 3 mistakes in units special abilities stats...

so in resume there are Rulesets that use all the original dark omen stuff ( 5k/15 etc etc..)

there are mods that use original dark omen races, but balance the stats, prices, regiments sizes

and there are mods that add new units to the already races in game, or add new races entirely wich means that it changes the stas and prices ass well

So i hope you now understand ALL.
