Title: Tournament 9000/30 Post by: Flak on July 18, 2009, 06:55:01 PM Hello Gang, this is the 1st draft of the July Tournament ruleset for 9000/30
Ive based this system on the popular 5k/15, expected to work in much the same way. Mika's system is a good idea but it is very limited in the *2 and *3 level, which limits the different costs, 5k/15 had a very specific pts cost system and it worked very well. The tournament will run the same way as the 5k/15 did. Up to 3 of the same is allowed however cost will increase, levels 1-4 will be available, each level over 1 will have an additional cost to the basic 3 level 1 units cost, armor is also allowed but cost only gold. So the first level 2 cannon will cost 3 pts and the 2nd level 2 will cost 4 pts. A level 3 Bright Mage will cost 6 pts When you buy 3 units, then you may only buy 3 regardless of how many different levels, and the higher level units counts as the first. If you buy 3 skeleton horsemen, 1 lvl 2, 1 lvl 4 and 1 lvl 1. Then it will cost like this: 6/3/2 because the lvl 4 being highest level goes first (3+3), lvl 2 cost 3 (2+1) and lvl 1 cost 2. and so on and so forth :) Humans Mercenary Crossbowmen 2/3/3 (level 2) +1 Imperial Cannon 2/3/3 (level 2) +1 Bright Mage 2/3/4 (level 2) +2 (level 3) +4 Imperial Halbardiers 1/2/2 (level 2) +1 Imperial Bowmen 2/3/3 (level 2) +1 Flagellants 3/3/3 (level 3) +3 Imperial Mortar 4/4/5 (level 2) +2 Ogres 2/2/3 Mercenary Swordmen 1/2/2 (level 3) +2 Imperial Greatswords 1/2/2 (level 4) +3 Ice Mage 2/3/4 (level 2) +2 (level) 3 +4 Mercenary Cavalry 3/2/3 (level 3) +3 Pistoliers 3/4/5 (level 2) +2 Knights of the Realm 3/2/3 (level 2) +2 Dwarf Warriors 2/2/2 (level 2) +1 Wood Elf Glade Guards 2/3/3 (level 4) +4 Wood Elf Archers 5/5/5 (level 2) +3 Treeman 5/4/4 Greenskins Night Goblins Archer 1/1/1 (level 2) +1 (2nd level 2 +0) Night Goblins 1/1/0 (level 2) +1 (2nd level 2 +0) (level 4) +2 Giant Spider 1/2/2 Giant Scorpion 1/2/2 Night Goblin Shaman 1/2/2 (level 2) +1 (level 3) +2 Orc Arrer Boyz 2/2/3 (level 2) +1 Orc Boar Boyz 2/2/3 (level 2) +1 (level 3) +2 (level 4) +3 Orc Boyz 1/1/2 (level 2) +1 (level 4) +3 Orc Big'uns 2/3/3 (level 2) +2 (level 3) +3 Orc Bolt Thrower 1/1/0 (level 2) +1 Orc Rock Lobber 4/4/5 (level 2) +2 Orc Shaman 2/2/3 (level 2) +2 (level 3) +3 Troll 2/2/3 Night Goblin Archers with Fanatics 2/1/2 level 2 +1 (2nd level 2) +0 Night Goblins with Fanatics 1/2/1 level 2 +1 (2nd level 2) +0 (level 4) +2 Undead Vampire 4/5/6 (level 2) +3 (level 3) +5 Ghouls 1/1/2 (level 2) +1 (level 4) +3 Mummies 7/5/5 (level 2) +3 (level 3) +4 Necromancer 2/2/3 (level 2) +2 (level 3) +4 Screaming Scull Catapult 3/3/4 (level 2) +1 Skeleton Archer 2/2/2 (level 2) +1 Skeleton Horsemen 3/2/2 (level 2) +1 (level 4) +3 Skeleton Warriors 2/1/2 (level 2) +1 (level 4) +3 Black Grail Knights 10/15 (level 2) +3 (level 3) +6 Wights 2/3/4 (level 2) +2 (level 3) +3 Wraiths 5/6/7 (level 2) +2 (level 3) +3 Zombies 1/0/1 (level 2) +1 (3rd level 2) +0 (level 4) +3 Items Horn of Urgok 15 Banner of Wrath 5 Staff of Osiris 3 Sword Skabskrath 2 others 1 Strength Potion, Enchanted Shield, Dragon Helm, Heart of Woe: 2 items cost 1 pts One major difference in 9000/30 with levels that help to balance the game is the high cost of higher level units like level 4 boar boyz cost over 7680 gc, many high level troops will ever only be possible to use once due to the gold cost. something that will help to keep a place in the game for the "small" units like goblins, swordsmen and zombies who otherwise could easily lose their usefulness in the game and that would be a shame, as it adds to the flavor to have as many diverse army builds as possible. Go try it out ;D and any comment is welcome Title: Re: Tournament 9000/30 Post by: bembelimen on July 18, 2009, 09:42:17 PM Really nice work, thank you. Let's hope, that it will proof its value in the tournament.
Perhaps you could add the Ruleset to the Wiki? Title: Re: Tournament 9000/30 Post by: Flak on July 18, 2009, 10:07:44 PM i would but i have no clue about html stuff :-[
Title: Re: Tournament 9000/30 Post by: bembelimen on July 18, 2009, 10:23:32 PM No need for HTML
Take the code from the 5000/15 (http://wiki.dark-omen.org/index.php?title=DO/Rules/5000/15&action=edit) ruleset and create your own page there. Title: Re: Tournament 9000/30 Post by: olly on July 19, 2009, 03:26:09 PM Nice work and greatly appreciate the effort,
should make for some good Battles. :) Title: Re: Tournament 9000/30 Post by: Kypper on July 19, 2009, 03:32:54 PM Looks great. I'm gonna try a few lists... :P
Title: Re: Tournament 9000/30 Post by: Mikademus on July 19, 2009, 04:44:36 PM Since this ruleset does not use the core/rare/unique rules, perhaps it should be named something else, or my original 9000/30 rules should be renamed (Like to 9000/CORE30, if this set is considered the "plain" 9000/30)?
In either case, I do hope that you update my original old rule set suggestion with the unit point costs you reach! Title: Re: Tournament 9000/30 Post by: DjLeBomb on July 23, 2009, 01:25:47 AM 8) Good, i haven't test the points yet so i don't make any observation about it, the only thing that make me some noise was: "popular 5k/15" ??? ? I was talking with Bembe a week ago i think, about making another 5000 tourny on the future to test the latest changes and see if we could make it stable, but now i wonder if that was acomplished already :P
About the name of the ruleset i think that the one that you sketched Mika could change to be finished in a future because explore another way of armys creation. I suggest TTS 9000 (for Table Top Style), but just an idea. Last but not least; the idea is the same as with all the gold/points sets? one army of each race that cannot be changed on the course of the event? :-\ Title: Re: Tournament 9000/30 Post by: bembelimen on July 25, 2009, 10:54:37 AM Since this ruleset does not use the core/rare/unique rules, perhaps it should be named something else, or my original 9000/30 rules should be renamed (Like to 9000/CORE30, if this set is considered the "plain" 9000/30)? Dark Omen Rules (http://wiki.dark-omen.org/do/DO/Rules). Now Flak can add his ruleset here: 9000/30 (http://wiki.dark-omen.org/index.php?title=DO/Rules/9000/30&action=edit). Title: Re: Tournament 9000/30 Post by: Kypper on July 25, 2009, 04:30:26 PM Wights 2/3/4 (level 2) +2 (level 3) +3
Wights are level 3 or 4, not 2. :P Title: Re: Tournament 9000/30 Post by: Mikademus on July 25, 2009, 09:41:00 PM Since this ruleset does not use the core/rare/unique rules, perhaps it should be named something else, or my original 9000/30 rules should be renamed (Like to 9000/CORE30, if this set is considered the "plain" 9000/30)? The data in the new 9000/30 article is in serious need of tabulation love and some caring descriptions. |
