Since Dark Omen only has 1 Unit Of Dwarves, your Army will all look the Same,

Here are some initial Repaints of Dwarves, that I may eventually alter their Axe Weapons

to a Rune Sword or Hammer (Weapon +1) etc..

Or one of the Dwarves could be used as a Replacement for Bernhardt, in a Dwarf Campaign.

In This Picture I've swapped around the Units, so that The Armoured Dwarf is the Leader of a Bare Skin Troop.

Now this  Unit of Dwarves have a "Warder's Cloak from the Wheel Of Time" as their Clothes take on the Scenary,

(A mistake by using the Background Colour of RDose as the Colour of their Clothes but good become Very Usefull in Future)

I made them all using Rob's Rdose Sprite Editor and GIMP (Free Paint Program),

So How do we Get these into the Game?

Luckily there are 12 Empty Spaces to Insert New Units into DarkOmen.

List of unused Spritefiles: (can be pasted in the <sprite>-section of the wh32edit-database.xml for easier setting in the editor ^^)
Peasant 1-3 are not unused sprites (but have forgotten them :D).
You can use the Spritefiles by naming them ST_ImpSwordsman.spr e.g. (and set to this sprite in Wh(3)2Edit).

These means that we could incorporate these Preliminary Dwarf Sprites as some of the 12 Slots.


and Replace them as we get Better! And it Saves us having to overwrite any Existing Original Sprites.

Don't forget that we can only change Sprites and Banners (never tested) without overwriting anything of Dark Omens original files.
Changing the Book Description (and Unit Names) needs EngRel.exe-modifying. The Pictures in the book (except Banners) only by overwriting original files. About the 3D Head: Unsure.

I agree and we could always overwrite an Un-Used Single Player Campaign Character like

Peasant Rabble or Black Avengers, as a Temporary Measure, until we want/if to add them to Multiplayer.

So for the Heads and Portraits and Speech we could replace with Modified Dwarves , perhaps.

All of this would require a Future Patch or at least the Download would contain a few Orginal Files to return

the Game to Normal.

However, we aren't ready for Such things , just yet as we would Roll loads of Mods Together into 1 Ultimate Patch.


So for now, we can attempt to import the New Dwarf Sprites and their Banners.

my specific need is a chaos dwarf unit and a dwarf light infantry unit so plz ;D

These New Dwarf XBowmen are Armed with Swords but also carry the XBow

on their Backs until they have to Fire!

im using these simulations

Goblin archers to Gnome Crossbowmen (no repaint as such necessary, maybe a gray robe instead of black)
Dwarf Infantry to Dark Dwarf Infantry (a repainted dwarf is all thats needed, red or orange maybe)
Dwarf Infantry to Dwarf light infantry (the sword dwarf will do well for this one)

Dark elves are easy to make, as the brigands are just elves painted black

  it just takes practice, so please tell me your areas of interest
and perhaps u could start by enhancing/Modifying/improving my
Hammer Dwarves, as their hammer and finer detail need adding.

Brapus, you could do the same to the existing DOC111 Slayer Sprite and enhance/Modify him.

Modding would be sweet, But I ain't going to ask too many questions yet, I need to first do some researching on the forums and find the time for it,

I would love to see some clean-sharp-looking dwarf army options in DO, and would like to add to that.

I'm wondering about one thing. Ive downloaded only one modded army, Unfinished Drucci, and it cancelled my ability to build undead. Is there any other way to create a new army without losing a race? I hear that you can install multiple versions of DO, but for getting people interested in it, that could get complicated. Is using those 12 'Add-on' slots that Ive heard of impossible to use?

When some new person finds out about this game a year from now and there are (hopefully) some new killer' sprites and armies, what would be the best solution to make it easy and simple to enjoy all selections and armies of Old DO and modded sprites on one platform? for a lay-man?

Is there a way to make a ULTIMATE version of DO to down-load, using all those 12 slots and what ever units that don't get usually used in multiplayer, Once there are enough 'finished' sprites to use for a couple different armies Ie, Drucci and Dwarfs... while still being able to choose from undead, humies, greens on the same version?

That would be super sweet, actually anyone plz talk to me on that and tell me why im dumb and that wont work =P

(did you use the dark-omen-mainpage function for setting a picture? You have to use the Forum-CP to set a avatar)

The 12 unused slots are only available for sprites.

The only way to prevent you from building normal armies is to add the new units before (or behind) the original units in the army file. This is not the perfect solutio but I can't think of another one :/.

After a substantial amount of new Characters have been created,

they will then be Packaged up with A Future Mod installer which will

allow Fans to easily Select a Race and Launch Dark Omen, simply by clicking

on thier Respective Picture. The Plan is to also add alternative Audio and Menus.

My brother and i play an expanded version of DO made with your Mod tools.
I have added Many new units over the ST Sprites Using the Dwarf as a Templet.

But i want the charriot in multi
Can i post attachments like my 2parm and New Sprites made for ST Slots.

Copy the sprite in the spritedirectory and set the sprite (in wh32edit) to:
56 for ST_ZZNewUndead6
3B for ST_ZZNewGreen1
3D for ST_ZZNewGreen3
3E for ST_ZZNewGreen4

To make it a bit easier use my Attached database.xml file (place it in %wh32editdir%\rc and overwrite the old one)

Squigs are small, aggressive, generally bipedal creatures that resemble fleshy soccer-balls with legs and very large teeth. Many different breeds and kinds of squig exist, but all share those same common characteristics. Omnivores in the extreme, many squigs live in the wild, where they feed upon whatever is unlucky enough to cross their paths. Though Squigs are not 'technically' Greenskins (though that is how they are listed in the ToK), they grow from fungus in a similar manner.

i think night goblins herd squigs like giant rats get herd by skaven and they ride spiders and wolves


edit: i just followed the wiki link for squigs and read:Cave Squigs usually grow from 1 - 3 foot tall and are often used by Night Goblins as mounts, beasts of war, or as a source of food

i have never seen a goblin ride a squig but it does sound cool :p

omg yes now that u say that,i have seen it lol in opening video of warhammer online the squig herder gets inside his big squig.


was confused with the idea of them using the squigs as mounts(riding ontop of em)

i think squigs would be extremely dificult yet funny to ride(ontop of the squig)would probably look something like ostrich riding

included in this lot is a drummer made from a minature. Ork Hero on boar. and some Skelly dogs made from shrunk horses.

None of the sprites i have posted now or befor are for writing over old sprites in my 2parm there is still ork boar riders and squigs.
The st slots can not be used for archery or i cant get them to work. so to add a gyrocopter with repeating crossbow i wrote it over the outlaw infantry. Also added skelly mounted archers over carlss.
Have also added mobile cannons made with a archer unit and st sprites as the crew, at like twice the price. but it means the cannon can operate alone with no crew, verry bad. so i just made it weaker in hand to hand. can any one think of a way arround it, How do you guys make yours.
