Conquest Prospects

Try out Conquest as a trial and see if you like it

We have a band of devoted and experienced players who will be delighted to have new players join and glad to share their knowledge. Ask any questions you may have, no question is too silly.

The general idea is that the trial player will get command of 1 or maybe 2 armies that will appear in unclaimed land or a rebel army appearing in a distant land.

I think this needs way bigger promotion. As well as Conquest section - why its still not renamed and not on the top of DO Forum/Index? since this is one of the main "advantage" and really exciting new tool for Dark Omen community, it should be really spread futher.

as for rules for such "trials" - i think maybe its better to make a separate faction for them? rebels dood, but dont have perspectives even if they win.. hovewer rebels possible if queue will get big enough. but we dont see any1 - i think its mostly cause promotion is poor.

its ok but we need this fator be a really random and transparent. like it will be bad if rebels suddenly appear in the key moment of battle and take few depots w/o fight. or otherwise, enemy will take down your army after faced with rebels.
also rebels is much similair as militia and thus logically should be worse in strenght than regular army, which not fits to Conquest Trial concept (at least my view)

my main idea is like Mika suggests

The rebels/barbarian raiders wont be able to capture land, only move through it and pillage.
I had a feeling thats what would work, but i understand what you say alavet that it may not show the game of for real to a trial player, but we also cannot add a new nation for one day.

i had seen it, but ive been very busy at work and only just had time to keep the game running at its current pace.

Well, this IS Warhammer, so there're many possibilities:

* A tomb is opened and a tomb king and a bunch of mommies, wights and skeletons pop out. Can happen anywhere, really.
* A goblin or orc chieftain gets the notion of going WAAAAGH! and sets out with a bunch of goblins or boyz.
* Peasant uprising, and that rogue scoundrel proved to be a good enough leader that the bunch actually organises well enough to be a real bandid outfit!
* Oh drat, that crazed ice wizard finally went all the way overboard and took his trolls into southern lands to force winter to come back!
* That dwarf berserker warband has declared blood vengeance, and woe befall anyone that happens to be in their way!

Etc etc etc.

Just thought of something. What if an incursor army could be quite large (but couldn't replenish)? This might introduce some interesting dynamics, if no-one would want to face it Smiley

Say that the ice wizard and trolls horde would be 9000 golds of wizard and trolls, I know *I* wouldn't want to get on it, but I also wouldn't want to let it ravish my lands...

Hey, i made some kind of ''Troll army''
I mean i made all of them 3/3 and gave different weapons.
The ice mage costs 800g, is level 2 and has to keep Wand of jet.
Im not sure about Trolls cost tho, also have to test them in fight xq.
What do you think about such idea? Cheesy

a 8x3/3 troll army looks a little bit overpowered, but in general I like the idea.

pls make sure he will spawn somewhere on the south ,-)

and there shouldbe some obunty for its head. i think 8 trolls + mage really strong army, especially agaisnt hummies or gs
