http://forum.dark-omen.org/help-section/read-me-ultimate-dark-omen-xpvistawin7win81win10-game-fixes-t111.0.html

Enhanced Edition, a reworked Dark Omen.

Dark Omen Enhanced Edition slightly alters the original campaign flow by adding more choices and also consequencs to your actions.
How you spend your time is now more important, so chose wisely.

Features:
- more missions
- more and mostly harder enemies
- some enemy units now have strong leaders based on 4th Edition Warhammer Fantasy Battle
- units better in line with 4th Edition (still no lances for Knights)
- no more magic items in buildings, they are now rewards or carried by enemies
- more possible army combinations to fight the Dread King
- some altered versions of dialogues fitting new choices

Special thanks go to:
- Olly for keeping site alive and his step by step guides
- Ghabrys Mod Selector and WH32Edit
- Aqrit and Ghabry for easy WHMTG script edits
- Robs CTLdis and BTBeditor
- and of course all the Dark Omen devs for making this awesome game

Patch Notes 1.1.0:
- goblins stole 3500gc from the imperial reward treasure
- added a dark magic spell
- the timing of the dwarfs improved slightly
- added more talking heads here and there
- further improvements to dialogues
- the lords of "The 100" turned into heroes
- two of the lost magic items found by powerful enemies
- polished the important battles
- this patch is not save game compatible

I hope that Klaus catched all the bugs. Have fun!

Many thanks Malus and have included it into the latest mod pack.

Thats a nice picture with masacre and fireworks!

This battle is maybe the hardest of chapter 1.
Did you lose Countess Guard and Imperial Bowmen?
I don't want to give any spoilers but it its worth to check if a regiment will leave soon (red arrow) or maybe stay (green arrow).

Hi Guys

I am new on this forum, despite I used some advices from here also years ago on WinXP laptops installing and playing Dark Omen.
It is awesome you made some mods. I like it. But there could be some README file in folder of every mod written by author where major changes and advices would be explained by the author of the mod.

About this enhanced mod I like for example the idea of items not hidden in buildings. I don't need now to destroy every building after mission, it was boring.

I also don't like the Strenght button and hotkey "S". Such solution was for children and is damaging my mouse and keyboard. I would appreciate mod, where this button and action would be forbidden. Also such a multiplayer mod.

Happy New year 2020 I wish to all of you.

Hi and welcome, glad you're enjoying the mods.

I do like the idea of a readme file that describes each mod and will create it based on their forum posts

http://forum.dark-omen.org/campaigns-b36.0/

I love the interactive strength button that can sway the outcome of melee and makes Dark Omen unique. It presents the player the decision to either micro manage each unit  to boost them but doing so takes their eye off the bigger battle, at their peril.

I miss the strength button in games like total war and feel redundant once each unit is engaged in combat. However, at least warhammer total war has spells to keep you busy.

The Strenght button could be at least "hold and wait" instead of fast-clicking button. The developers of 8-bit shooters recognized the autofire button is more fun and player can focus to other more funny aspects of gameplay instead of competition in fast-clicking.

I like especially the portraits of squad leaders informing about events of battle and their squads. I liked it also in "Z" (commander ZOD) game. It's a pity a lot of later games are missing this funny aspect of RTS battle.

I went through whole this enhanced campaign and I consider it really ENHANCED compared to original. I finished original campaign at around 5 times.
The enemies are really dangerous and they use their skills even better as the units from original campaign. All the missions are polished and I didn't encountered any glitch in AI or some enemy regiment behaving incompetent on the battlefield. This campaign is far from some amateur additions of half cooked moddifications into the game.

Some missions like "attack of greenskins camp" tend to crash, but I encountered it similar frequency in original campaign.

Gameplay rating from me: 5 stars out of 5

Thanks for playing  Wink

I don't know how to disable the strength button, but im sure its possible.
Makes me happy that you enjoy the changes, they are most important for replay value.

So have fun exploring!

Ps.: Please report any bugs, so Klaus can fix them.

Hey Malus,

1st of all thanks for this enhanced edition! from the few levels I played it looks really cool. But I have a question and if possible, give me as spoiler free answer as you can. So I just finished the helmguard mission but the game did not let me choose to defend bogenhafen (The town defense mission with the purple clothed mayor). I was wondering if the choice I made to help Sven impacted this. And if future choices also will impact that kind of stuff, like choosing to go on one sidemission makes it skips another. Or is something weird going on with my game?
