/////////*UPDATE -> All SOTHR SPRITES CAN NOW BE CONVERTED*//////////////

http://forum.dark-omen.org/2d-sprites/sothr-sprites-t1096.0.html;msg12265#msg12265

\\\ORIGINAL POST\\\\

Edit the PC version first mission army file STRTARMY.MRC with notepad, found in Warhammer SotHR\FILE\SCRIPT to swap your Mercenary leader sprite with any other character, to allow better screen shots to be taken of each stance and pose in all 8 angles (80 frames total). The in-game graphics options should be set to Shading quality Gouraud to allow the grass terrain textures to just be one background colour. Then paste the screenshot into Gimp Paint Program and swap the background colour for our own Dark Omen Sprite green and then resize your image accordingly. For example the Skaven Rat Ogre ->

STRTARMY.MRC script ->

addleader:Lt._Schepke
                  leaderportrait:Schepke,0
                  troopsprites:RatOgre,0

Unfortunately the Playstation version does look better but would be much harder to edit the single player armies and then downgrade the background textures to be simple colours, to make life easier to simply swap the background colour in Gimp (Select by Colour, then fill), rather than having to manually cut out the sprite on each frame. Although Cuthalion did successfully convert the Wyvern from the PSX version for his excellent Chaos Dwarf Campaign. The larger the sprite the better it looks zoomed in and for my Huge Giant and this Rat Ogre I opened an existing 80 frame sprite (using RDose sprite Editor) and doubled its size in Gimp (scale 200 %) and changed its 16 colour palette to be the same and then copy and pasted each frame in place to help position them properly.

Skaven army on way!
